Vegetative Debris & Air-Curtain Burning

Clearing produces a different material stream from mixed demolition debris. Onsite handling, offsite acceptance and a proposed burning method each need their own review.

Start with the clearing and material plan

  • Identify brush, limbs, logs, stumps and material containing soil or other debris.
  • Compare agreed onsite mulch or piling with offsite hauling and available receiving outlets.
  • Check access, separation space, nearby improvements and the required final site condition.
  • Keep treated or painted wood, construction products and suspect material out of clean vegetative streams.

Air-curtain burning requires project-specific verification

Air-curtain burning may be an option for eligible clean vegetative material only after applicable regulatory authorization, local restrictions, site conditions and operator arrangements are verified. Meyers does not promise an air-burning method until scope and authorization are confirmed.

Ask Arkansas DEQ and the responsible operator which authorizations apply to the proposed equipment and material. Identify the current permit and eligible feedstock before including a burning method in the quote. Mixed demolition debris, painted or treated products must not be included in a clean vegetative stream. Local permission does not establish state authorization.

Confirm the operator, controls and records

  • Confirm the actual operator, equipment, applicable authorization and eligible material.
  • Verify current local restrictions, burn bans, weather and site constraints before operation.
  • Agree supervision, separation, ash handling and the records required for the project.
  • Keep burning records separate from recycling or landfill-diversion claims; do not promise smokeless operation or regulatory exemption.

Plan the next step

Request roll-off container pricing or review hauling and material movement. For removal work, review demolition, selective demolition and civil and sitework.
