Does a demolition quote include foundation and slab removal?

For owners, developers, homebuilders, and general contractors comparing demolition scopes

Short answer

Only when the proposal says it does. Building demolition, slab removal, footings, foundation walls, piers, below-grade structures, pavement, and buried features should each be identified because they require different equipment, production, hauling, fill, and restoration assumptions.

Define every removal limit

A complete proposal should state whether the scope includes slabs, footings, foundations, basements, crawlspaces, retaining walls, underground tanks, septic features, wells, paving, and detached improvements.

Plan the void that remains

Foundation removal creates an excavation. The proposal should define acceptable backfill, import source, lift thickness or compaction requirements, testing responsibility, final elevation, drainage, and stabilization.

Why the distinction changes price

Concrete thickness, reinforcing, depth, access, processing method, disposal route, trucking, imported material, and testing can materially change both cost and schedule.
